Getting around Anguilla

Most journeys in Anguilla are by taxi or hire car. Taxi fares are fixed by a published rate guide rather than a meter, and a driver's Transport Board licence costs EC$200 a year. Hiring a car means buying a temporary Anguillian licence — US$25 for three months, or US$15 for three days — and driving on the left. Ferries leave Blowing Point for Marigot on the French side of St Martin at US$30 one way, and less often for Philipsburg on the Dutch side at US$35.

How it works

Fixed-rate taxis

There is a published rate guide showing the established fare for each trip across the island, so the price is known before you set off.

Hiring a car

You need your home licence and a temporary Anguillian one: US$25 for three months, or US$15 for three days for a day visitor. Driving is on the left.

Ferry to St Martin

Blowing Point's main route is to Marigot on the French side at US$30 (EC$80) one way. A less frequent service runs to Philipsburg on the Dutch side at US$35 (EC$94).
