Maho Beach

A compact strip of white sand squeezed between the Caribbean Sea and the runway of Princess Juliana International Airport. It is world-famous for jets roaring just overhead on final approach, and crowds gather every afternoon to watch the arrivals chalked up on surfboards at the nearby bars. The swimming is pleasant on calm days, but the plane-spotting spectacle is the real reason everyone comes.
