Getting around Curaçao

Autobusbedrijf Curaçao, owned outright by the government, runs thirty-five buses over twenty-one routes a day, with terminals at Punda and Otrobanda in Willemstad. Smaller vans work the routes alongside them. A ride through the city and the east of the island costs ANG 2.00; the western routes to Banda Abou, Tera Kora, Lagun and Westpunt cost ANG 2.50. Passengers aged 65 and over pay ANG 1.75 and ANG 2.25 once they hold a SmartPass.

How it works

What a ride costs

ANG 2.00 through the city and the east side, ANG 2.50 for the west — Banda Abou, Tera Kora, Lagun and Westpunt. Cash and the SmartPass card are both taken on board.

The two terminals

Buses leave from the terminals by the post offices at the Waaigat in Punda and in Otrobanda. Small vans and large buses cover different routes between them.

A SmartPass after 65

From 65, the fare falls to ANG 1.75 in the city and east and ANG 2.25 in the west, but only with a 65+ SmartPass, issued at the bus company's Buena Vista head office.

Who runs it

Autobusbedrijf Curaçao is wholly owned by the government of Curaçao and runs thirty-five buses on twenty-one routes every day.
