Sandy Point National Wildlife Refuge
Parks & Nature · St. Croix (St. Croix District), United States Virgin Islands
A federal wildlife refuge protecting the longest beach in the US Virgin Islands, a two-mile sweep of sand on St. Croix's southwestern tip. It is one of the most important nesting grounds anywhere for leatherback sea turtles, so public access is limited to weekend hours outside nesting-season closures. When open, it offers wide, undeveloped sand and swimming with no crowds and no facilities.
