Fort Christian
Things to do · St. Thomas (St. Thomas–St. John District), United States Virgin Islands
A deep-red Danish fort on the Charlotte Amalie waterfront, begun in the 1670s and the oldest standing structure in the US Virgin Islands. Today it houses a museum with historical photographs, furniture and artefacts tracing the islands' Danish colonial and Virgin Islander history. The ramparts give a good view over the harbour and the green hills behind the town.
