Buck Island Reef National Monument
Parks & Nature · St. Croix (St. Croix District), United States Virgin Islands
An uninhabited island and its surrounding reef a few miles off St. Croix's north shore, reached by licensed boat tours from Christiansted. The famous underwater trail leads snorkellers through elkhorn coral gardens, and a hiking path climbs the 176-acre island to an observation point. Turtle Beach on the west end is a favourite stop for a swim between reef sessions.
