Annaberg Sugar Plantation Ruins
Things to do · St. John (St. Thomas–St. John District), United States Virgin Islands
The ruins of one of St. John's largest 18th- and 19th-century sugar estates, kept within Virgin Islands National Park. Visitors walk among the windmill base, boiling house and factory walls while interpretive panels explain sugar production and the lives of the enslaved people who worked the estate. The site looks out over Leinster Bay toward Tortola, and the Leinster Bay snorkel trailhead starts from its parking area.
