Salt Whistle Bay

Beach · Grenadines Parish (Mayreau), Saint Vincent and the Grenadines

A horseshoe of white sand on the north end of tiny Mayreau, where a narrow palm-lined spit separates the calm Caribbean side from the breezy Atlantic side. Long one of the most photographed anchorages in the Grenadines, it was hit hard by Hurricane Beryl in 2024, which cut through the sand spit; the breach has since been repaired, and yachts, day-sail catamarans bound for the Tobago Cays and simple beach bars serving drinks and grilled fish have returned, with some rebuilding on Mayreau still under way.
