Saint Vincent Botanic Gardens
Things to do · Saint Vincent), Saint Vincent and the Grenadines
Founded in 1765 on the northern edge of Kingstown, these are the oldest botanic gardens in the Western Hemisphere. Paths wind through twenty acres of tropical trees and flowering plants, including a breadfruit tree descended from the plants Captain Bligh delivered in 1793. The Nicholas Wildlife Aviary within the gardens breeds the endemic Saint Vincent parrot, the colourful national bird, and local guides offer short walking tours.
