La Soufrière Volcano

Parks & Nature · on the Charlotte Parish boundary), Saint Vincent and the Grenadines

The highest point in the country at about 1,234 metres, an active volcano whose crater rim is reached by a steep trail through rainforest and old lava flows. The classic route climbs from the windward side through the Rabacca Dry River area, with guided hikes taking most of a day. The mountain famously erupted in April 2021 and has since returned to quiet, closely monitored conditions, and the summit views over the crater and both coasts reward an early start.
