Glass-bottom boats from Pigeon Point and Buccoo village cruise over this large protected reef system, where passengers can snorkel above coral gardens without needing dive gear. The trip's highlight is the Nylon Pool, a waist-deep sandbar of startlingly clear water in the middle of the sea, named after a remark attributed to Princess Margaret. The reef has been a designated marine park since 1973 and a Ramsar site since 2005.
