Peperpot Nature Park

A former coffee and cocoa plantation across the river from Paramaribo that has grown back into secondary forest and now serves as an easy-to-reach nature park. Flat walking and cycling paths follow the old plantation grid past ruins of the estate buildings, with excellent chances of spotting squirrel monkeys, sloths and bright forest birds. Because it lies just beyond Meerzorg, it works well as a half-day trip by bicycle.
