Beaches for swimming and seaside days in Montserrat
Four Montserrat beaches offer calm-water swims, watersports, reef snorkelling and quiet places to spend time by the sea.
Montserrat’s beaches range from easy-to-reach Little Bay to quieter coves and stretches of dark volcanic sand. Conditions and facilities vary, so check the notes for each spot before planning your day.
Lime Kiln Bay
Beach, Saint Peter Parish
This small black-sand cove has calm water favoured for shore dives, and snorkellers may spot sea turtles just offshore. There is a shaded picnic spot but no other facilities.
Little Bay Beach
Beach, Saint Peter Parish
Little Bay is the easiest beach to combine with other activities, with paddleboarding, kayaking and snorkelling available from the grey-sand shore. Casual restaurants and bars are a short stroll away in Marine Village.
Rendezvous Bay Beach
Beach, Saint Peter Parish
Reach this sheltered white-sand cove by boat or kayak from Little Bay, or by a steep trail. Clear, calm water over a reef makes it a spot for snorkelling; there are no facilities and little shade.
Woodlands Beach
Beach, Saint Peter Parish
This quiet stretch of dark volcanic sand has a nearshore reef for swimming and snorkelling, though currents can pick up. Barbecue grills and a picnic spot overlook the bay.
