A lush botanical garden on the Route de la Trace in the hills above Fort-de-France, created around a Creole family house and now home to more than a thousand tropical species. Paths wind past giant bamboo, lotus ponds, bromeliads and orchid displays, and rope suspension bridges let visitors walk through the canopy of century-old trees. Hummingbirds feed close enough to photograph, and the terraces frame views toward the Pitons du Carbet.
