Fort Saint-Louis
Things to do · Fort-de-France, Martinique
A 17th-century seaside fortress spread along a rocky headland guarding the bay of Fort-de-France, and still an active French Navy base. Guided tours walk the ramparts, where cannons, panoramic bay views and the fort's famous resident iguanas share the route. It is among the best-preserved military fortifications in the Lesser Antilles and has been a classified historic monument since 1973.
