The stone remains of an 18th-century French fort on the hill directly above Marigot, built to guard the port and its warehouses. A short, steep stairway climb from the town centre leads to the ramparts and old cannon positions. The reward is one of the best free views on the island, over Marigot Bay, Simpson Bay Lagoon and across to Anguilla.
