Derek Walcott Square
Things to do · Castries District, Saint Lucia
A shaded public square at the centre of Castries, renamed in 1993 in honour of the island's Nobel Prize-winning poet. The green space is bounded by Bourbon, Brazil, Laborie and Micoud Streets and ringed by the cathedral, the central library and surviving colonial-era buildings. It makes a calm starting point for a walking tour of the capital's compact historic core.
