Saint Lucia nature and outdoor stops
Explore rainforest-backed shores, botanical gardens, volcanic landscapes and walking trails across Saint Lucia.
These six stops bring together gardens, hikes, coastal scenery and volcanic features. For a gentler walk, choose the Tet Paul loop; Gros Piton offers a much longer guided climb.
Anse Chastanet Beach
Beach, Soufrière District
Rainforest hills rise behind this beach north of Soufrière, and a coral reef begins metres from shore. The Pitons are visible down the coast.
Diamond Falls Botanical Gardens & Mineral Baths
Parks & Nature, Soufrière District
Paths wind through tropical plantings in this six-acre garden, where hummingbirds are often seen. The grounds also include a waterfall and warm volcanic-spring baths.
Gros Piton Nature Trail
Parks & Nature, Soufrière District
Local guides lead the four-to-six-hour round-trip hike up Gros Piton, which rises 798 metres. The summit looks along the southwest coast and, on clear days, towards neighbouring islands.
Pigeon Island National Landmark
Things to do, Gros Islet District
Paths cross this 44-acre islet, climbing past historic military ruins to Signal Peak for views over Rodney Bay. Two small beaches offer a place to swim afterwards.
Sulphur Springs Park
Parks & Nature, Soufrière District
Guided routes pass bubbling mud pools and hissing vents inside the Qualibou caldera. The park also has warm volcanic mud baths and an interpretation centre about the area’s geology.
Tet Paul Nature Trail
Parks & Nature, Soufrière District
This community-run hillside loop passes an organic farm, fruit trees and cassava-making demonstrations. The short walk opens onto views of both Pitons.
