Cayman Islands beaches for swimming and seaside days
Find clear, shallow swimming water, shore snorkelling and quiet sand at five Cayman Islands beaches.
These beaches range from a long public stretch on Grand Cayman’s western shore to a secluded sand spit on Little Cayman. Choose between easy swimming, shore snorkelling, shaded downtime and a full day with beach facilities.
Point of Sand
Beach, Sister Islands district
At Little Cayman’s eastern tip, this remote pale-sand spit has ankle-deep water over the sandbar and a reef beyond. Bring what you need for the day, as the beach’s seclusion is part of its appeal.
Rum Point
Beach, North Side
This shaded north-coast beach has shallow, clear water for swimming and snorkelling, with hammocks between the trees. Changing rooms, a beach club and a dock add to the options for a relaxed day.
Seven Mile Beach
Beach, West Bay
The public beach runs along Grand Cayman’s calm western shore, with clear, gentle water and stretches of casuarina shade. Beach bars and watersport operators sit along the strip, with quieter patches nearby.
Smith Barcadere (Smith Cove)
Beach, George Town
This small cove just south of George Town has clear, protected water for swimming and nearby coral heads for shore snorkelling. Picnic areas, restrooms and outdoor showers make it a comfortable half-day stop.
Starfish Point
Beach, North Side
Near Rum Point, this sheltered sandy point has knee-deep, clear water where visitors can spot red cushion sea stars. Look without lifting them from the water; the spot is also a stop on North Sound boat tours.
