About Cayman Islands
The Cayman Islands are a UK overseas territory of three islands south of Cuba, and one of the world's larger financial centres. The Cayman dollar is pegged above the US dollar. Seven Mile Beach runs along the west of Grand Cayman, and the Cayman Trench offshore is the deepest point in the Caribbean Sea.
Known for Seven Mile Beach, Stingray City, financial centre, Bloody Bay Wall and the Cayman Trench.
Getting around
Grand Cayman's buses are run by the Public Transport Unit, and every route starts and ends at the depot on Edward Street in George Town. Each bus carries its route number in a coloured circle, and between them they reach every district. The average fare is CI$2 a journey, rising to CI$5 for anywhere beyond Hutland Road, such as Rum Point and Cayman Kai. Buses are not a point-to-point service; that is what the licensed taxis are for, and they work to a published fare chart. Traffic keeps to the left.
