Museum of Nevis History (Hamilton House)

Things to do · Nevis, Saint Kitts and Nevis

A Georgian-style stone building on the Charlestown waterfront marking the birthplace of Alexander Hamilton, the Caribbean-born founding father of the United States. The ground-floor museum tells the story of Nevis from its earliest peoples through the colonial era, while the Nevis Island Assembly still meets upstairs. It is run by the Nevis Historical and Conservation Society and pairs well with a stroll through the small capital.
