Guyana National Museum
Things to do · Demerara-Mahaica, Guyana
Founded in 1868, the national museum on Company Path gathers Guyana's natural and social history under one roof, from a famous life-size model of the extinct giant ground sloth to Amerindian craftwork, colonial-era displays and local wildlife specimens. Its slightly old-fashioned cabinets are part of the charm, and it makes an easy, free stop between Georgetown's other downtown landmarks.
