Pointe des Châteaux
Things to do · Grande-Terre, Guadeloupe
The wild eastern tip of Grande-Terre, where limestone cliffs and castle-like rock spires meet crashing Atlantic surf. A short uphill path climbs to the hilltop cross with a panorama over the archipelago, from La Désirade just offshore to Marie-Galante and, on clear days, Basse-Terre's mountains. The peninsula has been a protected classified natural site since 1997, with salt ponds, coves and roadside stalls along the approach from Saint-François.
