Mémorial ACTe
Things to do · Grande-Terre, Guadeloupe
A major Caribbean museum and memorial on the Pointe-à-Pitre waterfront, built on the site of the former Darboussier sugar factory and instantly recognisable by its silver-lattice shell over black granite. Its permanent exhibition traces the history and memory of the slave trade and slavery through to contemporary Caribbean culture, alongside temporary shows and concerts. Allow a couple of hours; the harbourside setting alone is worth the walk.
