Chutes du Carbet
Parks & Nature · Basse-Terre island, Guadeloupe
Three waterfalls plunge down the flank of the Soufrière massif on the Grand Carbet river, inside the national park above Capesterre-Belle-Eau. The classic visit is the second fall, about 110 metres high, reached from a staffed visitor area by a well-built forest walkway of roughly 20 to 45 minutes each way. Go early: morning light on the falls is best and the viewing platform fills once tour groups arrive.
