Fort George
Things to do · St. George, Grenada
Built by the French around 1705 on the promontory guarding St. George's harbour, Fort George is Grenada's oldest fortress and has witnessed many of the defining moments in the nation's history. Visitors climb from the town through stone passages to ramparts lined with old cannon and sweeping views over the Carenage and the coastline. Part of the complex still serves as police headquarters, but key sections remain open to explore.
