Fort Frederick
Things to do · St. George, Grenada
Perched around 800 feet up on Richmond Hill, Fort Frederick was begun by the French in 1779 and completed by the British, famously built 'backwards' with its cannon facing inland rather than out to sea. Its well-preserved ramparts now reward visitors with nearly 360-degree views over St. George's, the harbour and the green interior. It pairs easily with neighbouring Fort Matthew on a short hilltop visit.
