Bahía de las Águilas
Beach · Pedernales, Dominican Republic
A remote crescent of clear turquoise water inside Jaragua National Park in the far southwest, reached by boat from Cabo Rojo or a rough track through cactus scrub. There is no development at all — just several kilometres of white sand backed by dry limestone headlands. Visitors typically make a full-day trip with snorkelling and a picnic, and because the bay faces the calm Caribbean it stays clearer than the east-coast beaches.
