At the edge of Laudat village, swimmers glide through a narrow slot canyon whose smooth volcanic walls nearly close overhead, ending at a small waterfall pounding into the chamber. The water is brisk, the light otherworldly, and the whole swim takes only a few minutes each way, with life jackets and guides available at the entrance. Film fans know it from Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest.
