Trails from the restored garrison continue into Cabrits National Park’s forested twin peaks and around its coastal wetlands. The cannon-lined ramparts also look out over Portsmouth and Prince Rupert Bay.

  4. Indian River

    Parks & Nature, Saint John

Licensed boatmen row visitors up a shaded river beneath bwa mang trees, while herons, crabs and iguanas can be spotted along the banks. Guides share stories about the river’s wildlife during the journey.

Guided walks in the Kalinago Territory pass a herbal garden and reach the cascades where the Crayfish River meets the sea. The village also introduces visitors to Kalinago buildings and craft demonstrations.

  6. Morne Trois Pitons National Park

This UNESCO World Heritage rainforest park covers volcanic peaks, crater lakes and steaming fumaroles, with trails from short strolls to full-day treks. Its canopy is alive with parrots and hummingbirds.
