Queen Emma Bridge
Things to do · Curaçao, Curacao
A floating pontoon bridge from 1888 that swings open on ship motors to let vessels into St. Anna Bay, earning it the nickname the Swinging Old Lady. Today it is a pedestrian-only crossing between the Punda and Otrobanda districts, and when it opens, small free ferries carry walkers across instead. Watching the whole bridge pivot aside for a passing ship is a classic Willemstad moment.
