Named after Ernest Hemingway's fishing boat, Pilar sits at the far western end of Cayo Guillermo among some of the tallest sand dunes in the Caribbean. Its shallow, glassy water and brilliantly white sand regularly place it among Cuba's finest beaches. Day-trippers arrive from the Jardines del Rey resorts, and a simple beach grill plus boat trips to nearby sandbars round out a visit.
