La Bodeguita del Medio
Food & Drink · main island of Cuba, Cuba
A snug, graffiti-lined bar and restaurant on Calle Empedrado near Havana Cathedral, founded in 1942 and serving mojitos and traditional Cuban creole cooking. Its walls carry decades of signatures from writers, musicians and travellers, and the celebrated inscription linking Ernest Hemingway to its mojitos helped make it world-famous. Live son bands keep the little room lively through the day.
