The Split

The Split is the channel that has divided Caye Caulker in two since Hurricane Hattie in 1961, and today it is the island's favourite swimming spot. Clear, deep water runs past a seawall with sunbathing docks, a sheltered wading area with picnic tables, and kayak and paddleboard rentals close by. It sums up Caye Caulker's 'go slow' spirit in one easygoing place.
