The Lodge at Chaa Creek

Opened in 1981 on a former farm beside the Macal River, Chaa Creek is Belize's pioneering jungle eco-lodge and still one of its most celebrated stays. Thatched cottages and villas sit within a 500-acre private rainforest reserve laced with trails, a butterfly exhibit, a natural history centre and an on-site Maya organic farm supplying the restaurant. It is also a classic base for canoeing, birding and trips to the ATM Cave and Xunantunich.
