Belize's oldest marine reserve protects a natural cut in the barrier reef a short boat ride from San Pedro, its name meaning 'little channel' in Maya. The channel concentrates sea turtles, eagle rays, moray eels and dense schools of reef fish, while the adjacent Shark Ray Alley zone is known for close encounters with nurse sharks and southern stingrays. Guided snorkel and dive trips visit daily.
