Dean's Blue Hole
Parks & Nature · Long Island (Clarence Town), Bahamas
A blue hole plunging about 663 feet straight down, opening directly off a sheltered beach west of Clarence Town on Long Island — one of the deepest known in the world. The rim sits in wading-depth water, so swimmers and snorkellers can drift right over the edge and look down into the deep blue. Each year it hosts the Vertical Blue championship, the world's most prestigious freediving competition.
