Cable Beach

A broad, two-and-a-half-mile sweep of white sand and calm turquoise water on New Providence's north shore, roughly halfway between downtown Nassau and the airport. It fronts the Baha Mar resort area but remains public, so visitors share the shore with locals. Gentle, shallow water makes it an easy choice for families, and water-sports operators offer jet skis, parasailing and glass-bottom boat rides along the busier stretches.
