The Quill National Park

The Quill is the dormant volcano that gives Statia its unmistakable silhouette, and its slopes and crater form the island's flagship national park. A well-marked trail climbs from the edge of Oranjestad to the crater rim, where you can peer down into a lush pocket of rainforest or continue on steeper paths to panoramic points above the sea. A network of marked trails of varying difficulty threads the mountain, from gentle birding walks to the scramble up Mazinga, the island's highest point.
