Sorobon sits on the shore of Lac Bay, a wide, reef-sheltered lagoon on Bonaire's southeast coast where the turquoise water stays roughly waist-deep far from shore. Steady trade winds and flat water have made it the island's windsurfing home, with schools and rental centres right on the sand. Families wade and picnic under the trees, and the mangrove forest fringing the bay is a short walk away.
