Donkey Sanctuary Bonaire
Things to do · south of Kralendijk, Caribbean Netherlands
Founded in 1993, this refuge cares for more than four hundred donkeys descended from the working animals brought to the island centuries ago. Visitors drive slowly through the grounds while curious donkeys poke their heads through the car windows, and a separate area shelters foals and animals needing extra care. It is a reliably joyful stop for families, and entrance fees fund the herd's food and veterinary care.
