The island's territorial museum occupies a restored Swedish-era stone building at La Pointe, on the far side of Gustavia's harbour. Its collections and rotating exhibitions trace Saint-Barthélemy's story from Amerindian and colonial times through the Swedish century to modern island life. It is a compact visit of under an hour that gives real context to everything else on the island.
