St Jean Beach

The island's liveliest stretch of sand, curving around a turquoise bay split in two by the rocky promontory that carries the Eden Rock hotel. Calm, reef-sheltered water makes it good for swimming and paddling, with beach restaurants and boutiques steps away. Plane-spotters gather at the western end, where small aircraft pass startlingly low over the sand as they use the neighbouring airstrip.
