Grand Cul-de-Sac Lagoon

Parks & Nature · Saint-Barthélemy, Saint Barthelemy

A shallow, reef-protected lagoon on the northeast coast whose calm, waist-deep water stays clear for a long stretch offshore. Its seagrass meadows feed a resident population of green sea turtles, making it one of the easiest places in the Caribbean to snorkel alongside them, while steady trade winds at the outer edge draw kitesurfers. The lagoon lies within the island's protected marine zones, so wildlife is watched but never touched.
