Fort Gustav and Gustavia Lighthouse
Things to do · Saint-Barthélemy, Saint Barthelemy
On the headland north of the harbour stand the remains of Fort Gustav, built in 1787 during the Swedish era, including a stone guardhouse, cisterns and old cannons. A white lighthouse with a red top, erected in 1961, now rises among the ruins and still guides boats into port. The site doubles as a viewpoint over Gustavia's rooftops and the harbour entrance.
