The former Hôtel Saint-Barth Isle de France, now the Caribbean maison of the Cheval Blanc collection, sits directly on the white sand of Flamands Bay. Its 61 low-rise rooms, suites and bungalows are scattered through tropical gardens between the hillside and one of the island's longest beaches. Decades as Flamands' landmark beachfront hotel have made it one of the island's most famous places to stay; like many St Barts hotels it closes each year from late summer to autumn.
